The Golden Roof in the old town of Innsbruck is the most important symbol of the city.Archdruke Friedrich IV built the roof for his emperor Maximilian I. As we know today the emperor was very delighted about such that gift. Maximilian enjoyed it a lot to sit in luxury under his golden roof, and view the lively activity under the square below. There was no television, no cinema, and no radio that time. So Maximilian I had a very good time under his roof watching his subordinates living their everyday life.
